DIY Camo Wall:
Painted this wall in our son Dawson’s room and it was actually easier than I thought, once I got going!
Basically, it took 5 steps:
1. After choosing 3 colors you want to use, start with a base coat over the entire wall using one of the colors. I used the caramel color paint.
2. After painting the base coat & letting dry, I used a pencil to freehand the “blobs” of camo art. The great thing is, there’s no set pattern and anything you come up with could work! If you’re not feeling creative, and if it helps, copy what you can from this pic.
3. Lightly mark which areas are to be which color with 1, 2, 3, or whatever makes sense to you. #1 was my base color, #2 was a lighter green, #3 was the darker green.
4. Using a good quality brush, start painting the areas marked #2.
5. Paint areas marked #3.
And there you go, your camouflage wall is done, way to go! Once I finished this one, my little Gracie said she wanted a pink one in her room. (:
Thank you! Our middle school class at church wants camo walls and I think we might try a variety of colors–one wall pink camo, another blue camo, another green camo and another brown camo, including the closet doors 🙂 excited to try it out!
that’s awesome!
