We raced to the trail to get a better view. The vibrant orange sunset loomed in the distance, just waiting to be noticed. We stood there a moment in complete silence soaking it in…breathtaking. Gracie’s low serious whisper broke the silence. “Mom, it’s like God is speaking to us,” she breathed. It did feel like God was speaking to us. Runners ran the trail, walkers walked dogs around the loop, but in some ways, we felt like it was just us and God for those few moments in time. We silently watched till the sun went down beneath the clouds.
Glorious. Amazing. Beautiful. Our God – the Artist.
It wasn’t till later that I noticed in all of the pics taken, I saw what appeared to be EYES in the sunset. Maybe just a reflection of light, a parting of the clouds, I’m sure there’s a way to explain it, but we just decided to call it “the eyes of God over us.”
It was such a visual reminder to me, whether we realize it or not, He watches over us day and night…He never sleeps…He never grows weary…He’s always there…watching…caring…with us. He’s in the sunrise. He’s in the sunshine. He’s in the sunset.
“For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose hearts are completely His.” 2 Chronicles 16:9
Strongly support is such a wonderful Truth. Hanging on to that ….so good, Debbie!!
Thanks so much Holly & hope you’ve had a restful weekend, bless you friend!
