Recently, on a particularly LOUD and hurried morning at our house, I struggled to get the kids out the door on time. “HURRY UP!” I yelled, while stepping over the laundry still waiting to be folded, crazily searching for the missing library book, and feeling desperately in need of another cup of coffee.
Finally, the back door slammed shut behind them all. Quiet. A few moments later, it suddenly flung back open, and Noah yelled out to me, “Mom, you’re beautiful! I love you, have a great day!” The door slammed shut again…quiet.
But something more than the quiet overwhelmed me at that moment, it was something incredibly kind and caring that shined from the heart of my sweet boy. It was God’s love over me. I sure didn’t “feel” beautiful in any way that morning. We had woken up late, and still in my pajamas, hair a mess, I had yelled at my kids, I was hurried, I was tired.
But He whispered to me in the quietness, “No matter how you feel or what you do, you are beautiful to me, you are my child…I am with you… and I love you.”
Do you believe His words to you? They are truth, they are accepting, they are unconditional, they are forgiving. He loves you today – and every day. Be assured, in the midst of imperfection and weakness, you are beautiful in His eyes. He SHINES over you today!
“The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
