Prayer for the Upcoming Election

October 31, 2012 by Debbie 1 Comment

Only 1 week left before our country elects a president.  In the midst of all that is happening in our nation right now, please keep the focus to pray! The prayer points below were written by a dear friend of mine, Pam Schulz, who has such a wise, discerning ministry and voice in praying for our political world today. I'm always so grateful for her insights. Just wanted to share this one with … [Read more...] about Prayer for the Upcoming Election

you don’t have to do it all…

October 30, 2012 by Debbie Leave a Comment

I read a quote recently that said, "The more you are doing, the less well you are doing most, if not all, of it." Gulp.  Admittedly, I relate. Over-activity is one area of life where "less" is truly "more. You may THINK you can do it all, but reality says, you can't.  Superwoman does not live here and chances are, she doesn't live at your house either. Why can't we get it all done?  Because … [Read more...] about you don’t have to do it all…

Hardness Clogs

October 28, 2012 by Debbie Leave a Comment

My coffee pot stopped working yesterday. gulp. Not a good way to start the day. Living in Texas all these years should have been enough to remind me why - hard water.  It had clogged the pot - the hardness of the water filtering through it had, over time, rendered it ineffective. I got out the vinegar ran it through.  After a few times, it worked perfectly again. jump.for.joy. My morning could go … [Read more...] about Hardness Clogs

tech people live here…I am not one of them.

October 26, 2012 by Debbie 1 Comment

My new cell phone was delivered recently.  I know, I know, I should have been excited, ecstatic, jumping for joy, but I found myself saying, without much emotion, "oh my new phone."  I brought in the box, set it on the counter, stared at the unopened package for a few minutes, and then went on with my day. My 10 yr.old Dawson gets home from school, sees the box, and lets out a rip-roarin' scream, … [Read more...] about tech people live here…I am not one of them.

no matter our differences, motherhood bonds us together.

October 25, 2012 by Debbie Leave a Comment

In the big scheme of motherhood, most of the moms I know try to make the best decisions they can for their families,  and though often varied and different, we can choose to focus on what bonds us together - like loving our families, raising responsible kids, and cheering one another onward in this journey of life. Being a great mom is not based on how clean our house is, or how messy - … [Read more...] about no matter our differences, motherhood bonds us together.

Forgiveness = Freedom

October 23, 2012 by Debbie 1 Comment

If you've lived long enough, chances are you've felt the pain of betrayal and hurt. Hidden resentments and unforgiveness will weigh us down. Don't stay stuck in that trap! Though forgiveness may never "feel" right, it will always "be" right. Choosing to forgive doesn't mean that the wrong never happened, it just means you won't allow it to control your life anymore. let it go. forgive. take the … [Read more...] about Forgiveness = Freedom
