dear pastor’s wife…

October 5, 2012 by Debbie 1 Comment

dear pastor’s wife,

in case you need to hear God’s heart for you and be reminded of His amazing love over you today:

when you feel unworthy…you are valuable for who you are – not for anything you can do – but simply because you are YOU.

when you feel discouraged…remember that you are beautifully designed to walk this road beside your man – His Spirit SHINES from within you – though you may not “feel” very beautiful at times – choose to see yourself as HE sees you.

when you feel weary…be confident that this work, your life, is never in vain…you can only see a small glimpse of the impact your life makes in this world.  God sees the big picture, trust Him with that.

when you feel burdened…as you carry silent hurts and burdens for many that you love, be assured – He carries you…His arms are big.

when you feel overwhelmed…remember that you are chosen, you are called, not just to “do” but to simply “be” – be a helpmate, be a support, be a wife, be a mom, be a friend, be a leader, be a follower, be a constant reflection of the GRACE of our God.

when you feel inadequate…live in freedom, release expectations – those that you put on yourself, or those that feel from others – be confident to walk in all He made you to be…never trying to be someone else…but free to be the uniquely gifted you.  there is only one YOU.

when you feel lonely…He is faithful to you…He is with you…keep being a friend…He will send you a friend…keep encouraging…He will send you an encourager…wait for Him in the silent times…draw close to Him…you are never really alone.

when you feel like you’re not good enough…remember that you don’t have to be – He’s good enough.  don’t fall for the trap of pleasing people – live only to please your loving Abba, Father God.

when you feel misunderstood…He sees your heart as noone else does…He hears your heart…He knows your heart.

when you feel betrayed…you can tell Him all about it.  He is your Defender, you can rest in that…leave it in His hands…forgive…move forward.

when you feel unloved…remember that your husband – though not perfect, and often striving to keep the balance of too many needs and demands from all directions -needs you.  believe in him – respect him – love him.  the two of you are a team, best fulfilling God’s plans as you walk this life thing out together.

when you wonder where God is in the midst of it all…be assured that He is right there with you in the midst of it all.  and never, ever doubt, that He is absolutely crazy about you, He smiles over you, He takes joy in you, He’s for you, He’s proud of you, He’s your strength in every area you feel inadequate and weak, He wants to do amazing things through you, His power lives in you!  His work is not done yet – trust Him.  He sings over you…He whispers to you today…i.love.you.my.child.

“The Lord your God is with you,  he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you,  he will quiet you with his love,  he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30

Dear sister in Christ, Thank you!!
Though I am not a pastor wife all these things are relevant to me. I like the; When you … Because these are challenging moments that we are all going to face. The choice is always how are we going to face them. We can enter in in a frenzy of anxiety, or enter in confident that our Loving Father has got this battle. What a blessing of peace!!

If I could, I’d offer you a cup of coffee and would love a chance just to sit and talk, to hear your stories about life – the joys and the struggles too.

In whatever you’re facing today, my heart is that you might find some encouragement through these pages and fresh hope in God’s words ...
