“Mom, I’m bored.” Ever heard that? Me too! Though this can’t be an absolute guarantee to prevent those words from being spoken – it may give some options.
Sometimes the summer planning in itself can be overwhelming for us moms – been there, done that! So thought I’d put together a quick list of websites and ideas to help in that summer planning.
Most everything below, we’ve either been a part of in the past, or will plan to in the near future. Many of these great places have week long day camp options and others offer fun for the day.
Of course, we can’t do it all, don’t try, it’s too much – we usually choose a few to focus on every summer. Many of you might find that simply one week of any camp for the summer is enough for your child. Others may fill the summer with camp fun – just do what fits your family.
We always go to VBS – it’s free, it’s fun, and we would love to invite you to be a part of it this year! Many churches have great VBS programs, find one that’s close to you that fits what you believe in.
We usually let our kids choose a several more camps to enjoy, maybe a sports camp and also a drama/arts/music camp. Or, if they’re old enough, a week long summer camp – away – is great fun for them and an adventure to look forward!
Please feel free to add your own recommendations here – this is not an exhaustive list – lots more out there & some new places that have recently opened up too!
Please check out the previous post on “Top 20 List of Fun Family Things to Do in Houston this Summer” for more ideas and websites of places you might be interested in visiting.
