Recently, after several nights of being awakened with kids suffering from the dreaded stomach virus, and still reeling from the effects of it myself, I wearily finished packing backpacks, helped one child study for a test, then started to tackle the loads of laundry that awaited.
Noah gently touched my arm, “Um, Mom,” he whispered, I looked at those bright blue eyes that sparkled up at me, “You do a lot for our family, thanks, I love you.” He gave me a big hug, then ran out the back door for school.
Tears filled my eyes from his simple, heartfelt words, and from the fact that he had noticed.
It’s often in the most weary moments that I’m reminded what a gift being a mom really is.
Moms – whether or not you hear those words today from those around you, God whispers it deep into your soul.
YOU are needed.
YOU are loved.
YOU are appreciated for all that you do everyday to make life carry on.
Whether you work in home, from the home, or outside the home -whether you homeschool, or get kids to private or public school every day – whether you’re a soccer, football, theater, or anything else mom – whether you have babies or college kids – being a mom is the most incredible journey of this life.
Don’t ever compare yourself with someone else who seems to have it all together, because odds are, they really don’t either – and the simple truth is, YOU are the best mom in the world for YOUR kids.
They are blessed because of you!
“…she smiles at the future.” Proverbs 31:25
