OK, so, some not very smart people who have been talked about way too much in the media this week have spurred me on…to write, this series of thoughts from a great book, Proverbs. It’s all been kind of jumbling in my thoughts and stirring in my heart for awhile now, but just waiting for the right time to put it all together. I guess now’s as good a time as any.
Thoughts on Raising Wise Guys, and General Wise Living in a Not So Very Smart World.
Just simply some daily reflections taken from Proverbs, the book of wisdom. God knows we need more of it in this world. And I surely need more of it my own life.
The great thing is, if you’ve never had a chance to read through it, there are 31 chapters in the book, and 31 days in the month of May. How convenient. 🙂 You could read a chapter every day. And I’ll share one of those verses, or a thought or a story that will hopefully bring some encouragement your way. We live in a world where we just need to do that more. Breathe out hope. Or life words, that remind us we’re not alone in all the stuff we navigate through and that’s thrown our way every day.
Enough of the over-focus on the negative media stories. Let’s take those things and learn from them, but against the backdrop of His Truth.
Here’s some info about Proverbs – it was written by several authors, but mostly by King Solomon, who is also well known as being the wisest person in the world. He wasn’t perfect, and lived forever ago, but the words reflected through God’s Words are perfect and flawless, and amazingly accurate and relevant for our days. Today. It’s incredible really, how relevant.
It’s broken into 3 sections – 1st Section – Chapters 1 -9 – Wisdom for Young People
2nd Section – Chapters 10 – 24 – Wisdom for All People
3rd Section – Chapters 25 -31 – Wisdom for Leaders
There’s really something here for every one of us, no matter where we are in life, or what stage, whatever our backgrounds, our goals, our age, or professions. So – awesome if you take steps to read through a chapter a day, by the end of the month, you will have finished a book of the Bible. And, awesome if you join me for a verse or thought. Either way, I’m with you!
I’ll be writing on the Fresh Day Ahead facebook page, every morning, over here:
