A Prayer to Keep the Enemy from Stealing Your Joy

September 22, 2016 by Debbie 17 Comments

“The joy of the Lord is my strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

Don’t let the enemy steal your joy today. He’ll try you know. You may not even realize it until it’s too late.

From the moment your feet hit the floor, he’ll do all that he can to distract you, to overwhelm you, to frustrate you, and to stir up worry and strife. Often his ways are subtle, other times they’re more clear.

It’s what he does best.

Stealing.

Killing.

Destroying.

Just say “no.” Don’t let him win.

We have a choice of who we listen to and what we believe. Recognize who is at the root of it all, and push past the enemy’s lies; step over his traps.

God gives us the power through His Holy Spirit to live free from the entanglement of sin. He gives us the power to live strong. He gives wisdom and discernment to make the right choices. He gives joy deep inside. He offers the assurance, that no matter what we face, He is with us.

May His grace, peace, and joy cover your day. He is with you. And He is Mighty.

Dear God,

At the start of this new day, help us to recognize you above all else. Enlighten the eyes of our heart that we might see you and notice how you’re at work through our lives. Give us wisdom to make the best choices, fill us with a desire to seek after you more than anything else in this world. Let your Spirit and power breathe in us, through us, again, fresh and new. Thank you that you are greater than anything we may face in our day. Thank you that your Presence goes with us, and that your joy is never dependent on our circumstances, but it is our true and lasting strength, no matter what we’re up against. We ask that your peace lead us, that it would guard our hearts and minds in you. We ask for your grace to cover our lives this day. We love you Lord…we need you.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

“Love God, surrender to Him, but resist the enemy…”
It’s so encouraging/refreshing to be reminded of both love and devotion towards our Savior while staying alert to say No to, and resist, the enemy of our souls. Thank you so much for your ministry to the heart.

“Don’t let the enemy steal your joy today. He’ll try you know. You may not even realize it until it’s too late”

True … I realized how the enemy is slowly eating up my joy .. small irritations but multiple times placed a tint in my heart .. I realize he is so good because he started from people around me now moving to people I don’t even know.

Thanks for the prayer and for reminding me who our God is.

Just say NO….so simple yet so difficult. However when we sat no to the devil we stop him in his tracks and experience God’s joy! Stopping by from By His Grace.

Wow I never knew all these uplifting pages was around. Sadly we had a lady that took her life last weekend from our church, what a blow, also my cousin college friend is speaking about ending her life. I’m looking into ways along with prayer to break this horrible lie from satan. God bless, I’ll be following & learning you all

Arlene, I’m so sorry to read of this loss, it is very sad & a lie that the enemy has often used all too often on too many people, praying for God’s truth & light to continually be revealed, blessings to you & thank you so much for being here…

Hi. Debbie. I am suffering from horrible depression. The anti depressants have totally numb me Feel absolutely nothing. No Joy!!!!!! Or happiness. I read God’s word and know in my head the meaning. But no feelings in my heart and soul. I pray constantly that th Lord will unlock the door to my heart and allow me to feel again. The meds have helped with the black hole I was in. But this no feeling. Of joy is truly hellish. I do believe Santan has his hand in this. 💔🙏

    Debbie,

Thank you always for your edifying and insightful posts. They help keep me grounded in the Word, as I’m plagued with a separation from my adulterous husband. I’ve prayed for his salvation, but nothing has changed. My husband is still with the other woman and his heart is still hardened towards me. I’ve received the Word from God to wait, always to wait. My faith is fading though. Please excuse the rambling.
